NCAT Women’s Basketball: A History of Division Success

The North Carolina A&T Women’s Basketball team has a long and successful history of playing in NCAA Division I. The Aggies have been competing in the mid-major conference since 1982 and have since become one of the most consistent and successful programs in the country. The Early Years

NCAT women’s basketball began in 1982 as part of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). During the early years, the Aggies had success on the court, winning the MEAC tournament in 1988 and earning a bid to the NCAA tournament. They would go on to have a successful run in the tournament, advancing to the Sweet Sixteen in 1990 and making two more appearances in the NCAA tournament in 1994 and 1996.

The Mid-2000s
