Kentucky Basketball National Championships
Kentucky Wildcats basketball has a long and storied tradition in college basketball. The program has a rich history of winning and has won eight national championships, most recently in 2012. Kentucky’s First National Championship
Kentucky’s first national championship was won in 1948 under head coach Adolph Rupp. The team was led by future Hall of Fame players Alex Groza and Ralph Beard. The Wildcats went 36-3 and won the championship game 58-42 against Baylor.
1949 Championship
The team repeated as champions in 1949, going 32-2 and defeating Oklahoma State 46-36 in the championship game. Rupp’s team was led by Groza, Beard, and Wallace Jones.
1951 Championship
